A Busy Summer
I have been bad about updating the blog so this is going to be a summary of what we have been up to. Summer has been really busy and full of fun. We started it out with our annual trip to Galveston with the Stones, Horners, and Keek. The Stone family owns a condo right on the beach and is sweet enough to include us each year. The condo has a huge pool, lazy river, swim up bar, and other ammenities that make it a perfect vacation spot. The boys all wore matching tank tops...hilarious. We spent time at the pool, cooked, went on a dolphin cruise, and played board games. Max and Cora had a great time playing in the water and hanging out with the group. We are blessed to have friends that love our kids!
A few weeks later Kyle and I were able to spend three days in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico....just us. We missed the kiddos a TON but the time together was so refreshing and appreciated. The grandparents split the days in half and the kids had a BLAST. Kyle and I are immensly lucky to have them close by and involved. We stayed at the Secrets Marquis Resort and Spa. This place was gorgeous...right on the beach. The pool was beautiful and overlooked the ocean. We layed out, ate tons of delicious food, took a tour, and dined one night at the marina. The tour was a paddle boarding/snorking trip. As we cruised to the site, our boat went through a pod of about 500 dolphins (captain estimated). It was unreal. They swam along the boat, leaped in the boat wake, and did jumps in the air. Truly memorable. We ate dinner at a place called Lorencillo's. It is a famous lobster and seafood place. Kyle and I enjoyed the gorgeous view of the marina and celebrated Father's Day in style. Overall, the trip was amazing. Our year has been filled with LOTS of big life events (expanding our family, two surgeries, etc) so it was nice to have time as a couple to reflect.
The following weekend after Cabo, my best friend Angie got married. I was blessed to be part of her wedding. The entire weekend was like a dream! Everything detail was breathtaking. I cannot think of a more deserving person than Angie. It is a weekend that I wish I could live over and over again. One of life's greatest treasures is seeing the people you love celebrated.
This past week we celebrated the 4th of July with my mom, Kevin, and Kyle's family at the Scott's casa. We spent time at the pool, ate a huge and delicious lunch, and went to a local festival in Castle Hills. We topped of the evening with small fire works in the back yard. I loved seeing the kiddos interact and eating my mom's apple pie:).
