Christmas was a blast this year in most ways. The only thing that I wish I could change about it was the absence of Mom and Kevin. They had to leave unexpectedly for New Zealand due to the passing of Kevin's father. Please pray for his family as they mourn this huge loss.
On Christmas Eve, we spent quality time with Kyle's family building gingerbread houses, eating yuumy foods and desserts, opening presents, and relaxing. On Christmas Day, I spent time prepping dinner with my sister Brooke while Kyle and Spivey watched Max and Henry. My favorite thing about the holiday was spending quality time with family we do not see as often. Overall, my mom would have been proud of the dinner cooked in her honor! I made my first turkey and stuffing ever while my other siblings prepared the rest.
While I do not foresee hosting Christmas again for a long time, I am grateful for the experience. I will never again take for granted all the work my moms and grandmothers put in to making the holidays special. So a BIG THANKS to them for all the holidays past!
As for Max, he was just a bundle of fun. He LOVED seeing all the lights, decorations, and Christmas trees. He would get all excited and loud when he saw a decorated tree in a store or shopping center. While he loved (ok...tolerated) Santa, he would not go anywhere near him at the mall. He was content telling Santa from a FAR distance what he wanted. The month of December was filled with cookie and tree decorating, shopping, eating, and spending time with loved ones. I am blessed!
