Cora is ONE!!!
Happy birthday to the most wonderful, beautiful, funny, sweet, and resilient girl I know! Even though Cora has only been "ours" for two months we could NOT imagine our lives without her. She is blossoming everyday and making huge gains. Kyle and I are immensely proud of our little fighter. Miss Cora and Max are the light of our lives. Sometimes Kyle and I just cannot believe that we get to be her (and Max) mom and dad. What an amazing blessing that we do NOT take for granted. Here is what the dumpling is up to:
Personality: Cora is flexible, happy, funny, and a go-getter. She is very social and enjoys crawling around looking at everything.
Loves: Her family :), our dog Daphne, being outside, hanging upside down in your lap, being smiled at and tickled, bath time, moving around and playing with her toys
Dislikes: If Cora does not want to eat, she will let you know. If she wants a toy...she will fight for it :).
Eating: This is a big one! She went from struggling to hold formula down and swallowing to eating purees and even some table food! She has also started to drink water from a sippy cup without choking or coughing. We still have a ways to go but have made HUGE progress.
Sleeping: Cora is a rock star at night...12 solid hours. She takes two naps during the day, one shorter morning nap and one longer afternoon nap. We struggled a few weeks ago with the morning nap but she has since started taking it everyday again.
Words: Cora can say Mama, Dada, bye bye, and I think she tried to say Max today. Nothing warms my heart more than to hear "Mama".
Milestones: She is crawling, pulling up, cruising, and can stand for a second or two unassisted.
I definitely woke up this morning thinking about Cora's birth mother. I can only imagine this is a tough day for her and her family. I pray that God grants them a peace and confidence that she is loved fiercely.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CORA CHIEH SCOTT!!
