Cora: 18 Months

Cora turns 18 months old this Saturday! She has come along way from the girl I met 7 months ago:). Some words that come to mind to describe Miss Cora are: social, independent, focused, loving, snuggler, individual. She has definitely come into her own and developed quite the dynamic personality. Kyle and I continue to thank God for this precious girl. Here are some "stats": Weight/Height: We will find out next week. I am guessing weight at 18.5-19lb and height at 31 inches. Petite yet fierce!. Clothes size 9-12 months. Favorite Foods: Coconut yogurt, fruit mash-ups, baked carrots and sweet potatoes, chicken, bananas, oatmeal, pasta, hummus, cheese. Favorite Toys: Any and all! This girl loves to play. She adores her stuffed animals and any toy that she can manipulate. Favorite Activities: Listening and dancing to music, chasing her bro around, playing outside, reading books, watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Sleeping: Wakes up around 7:30/8, naps at 12:30/1, bed at 7:30. Overall Cora is a good sleeper and will play in her crib until we get her. However, she will wake early or short nap when she is learning a new skill or teething. When she learned to walk...she spent an entire nap walking around in her crib. Milestones: Cora is walking everywhere now. She loves to try to keep up with her brother. I asked our pediatrician a few months ago about her lack of desire to walk (she could take steps but would not practice). He assured me that she would walk when she was ready. Well, yep he was right. I was doing dishes one day and I looked over to see her walking from the kitchen to her room. Little stinker just decided to be a walker one day and that was that! Cora can also say lots of words now....my favorites are momma and "Ma" for Max. She does not speak constantly like Max did at her age...only when she feels like it:). Personality: Cora is a sweet, outgoing (mostly), and independent little one. She is DEFINITELY a toddler now...no more baby left. Tear. She is extremely driven when she wants something which can cause mini-fits. I have been working with her to use her words and sign language. This has started to help her frustration. Favorite items/things: Her pink stuffed bunny and Minnie Mouse, her brother Max, her grandfathers Kiwi, Poppity, and Poppi, being in social situations, snuggles with mom and dad, our dog Daphne. Medical Update: Cora is doing AWESOME! Amen! Thank you for all your prayers on her behalf. They have made a HUGE impact on her health. Cora will continue to see her cardiologist to monitor her hole (VSD) and GI for her constipation. Her eating is completely normal now. I get choked up just thinking about what a fighter this girl is. She has endured so much loss and pain in her short life yet continues to love and smile. We love you to the moon and back Cora Chieh Scott!!!
