Paperwork: A Love-Hate Relationship
Paperwork is going to be my new area of expertise. Do universities offer a M.S. in paperwork? I say this with sarcasm of course but also joy. Paper work for any family trying to adopt elicits opposite emotions simultaneously (in fact this is true for the entire process but that is a whole other post). The first emotion is usually excitement. Yes! One step closer to our child! Something to keep our idle minds and emotions busy! The second emotion, stress, often follows during the actual filling out of the paperwork. Ok, one more employment letter, three things to notarize, is this correct?, and so on. One result of the paperwork is that it has forced Kyle and me to communicate more. We have to talk about all the "unfun" things like monthly spending, savings, retirement, life insurance, budgets, etc. Somehow Kyle always finds a way to make me laugh during our paperwork sessions.
We recently received a new round of paperwork to complete in preparation for our AIT immigration visit when we are in Taiwan. In addition, we also received our travel guide! We are still at least a couple of months away minimum from travel but it is uplifting knowing we are getting close enough to talk about it. Our newest forms had us fill out Chieh Chieh's American name. Drumroll...we are officially going with Cora Chieh Scott. We decided not to include her Taiwanese middle name just her first name.
We are still waiting for our Civil/First Ruling. This could happen any day! We are praying to travel in August though this is a lofty wish. Until then, we will be working on more paperwork and going to the notary. :).
