Seaside, Florida

Every summer my family (those who can come) goes to Florida together. We always stay in Destin but this year we changed it up and stayed in Seaside. If you have seen the movie "Truman Show" than you have seen Seaside. It is the town Truman lived in...a picturesque place right on white sand beaches. My family rented a house right across the street from the beach and four blocks from the main part of downtown. This year it was my sister/her family, my twin/his family, me/my family, and my mom/Kevin. Our house had a swimming pool and roof top deck. My mom was nice enough to drive all the stuff down allowing Kyle, me, and the kiddos to fly. Our departure date was exactly one year to the day that we left for Taiwan:). Both kids did awesome on the plane thanks to suckers, snacks, and movies. We stayed for a week and only had one day rained out. Max and Cora loved the beach and playing with their cousins. Every morning we would head to the beach, have lunch in town in the afternoon, and then do various things in the evening. Seaside is full of amazing little places to eat. My favorite was a burger place called "Pickles" and this trailer that sold shaved ice. Seaside is so small that most people walk or bike everywhere. Kyle and I rented a few bikes and had a blast riding around when the kids were napping. Two of Max's cousins (Liam and Henry) have birthdays within a week of Max...so we had a pirate party one night for them. In addition, we celebrated Cora's one year Gotcha Day. More on that later:). Different post. I loved seeing Max and Cora spend time with their cousins, Uncles, and Aunts. Everyone lives apart now so time together is that much more precious. Max's favorite thing to do was collect seashells on the beach and swim naked in the pool. Cora loved to chase the seagulls and play in the sand. Both my kiddos are beach babies and I am so happy! If you know me...the beach is sacred so this is so fitting. I cannot wait for next year! PS...if you are thinking of a beach trip...Seaside is AMAZING.
