Adoption Update: Paperwork and Referral Time

Since I finally began to blog about the adoption process, I figured that some family and friends would appreciate an occasional update along the way. :)
I filed our immigration paperwork with UCIS last week and received confirmation it was received today. This paperwork is essentially used to get approval from the United States government to adopt and bring home an orphan. You cannot complete this step until your homestudy is completed and notarized by your adoption agency. The next step with immigration is to wait for our fingerprinting date and then go get fingerprinted. Meanwhile we wait for our referral! Referral news...it looks like our wait time could be only a few months rather than six months. This means that we could be selected by a birth mother sooner rather than later. Wow! Kyle and I may be holding a picture of our precious baby before we know it! I get excited and nervous just thinking about it.
We ask for your continued prayers. Specifically for our baby and his or her birth family and for our spiritual growth through this process. Thank you and I love you all!
