Homeland Security and UCIS Notice

Kyle and I received our appointments to be fingerprinted by the Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. We are excited because this is one of the last things on our "TO DO" list until we receive our referral. Aside from the set backs in Ethiopia (which led to us partnering us with Taiwan...a huge blessing!), we have had a smooth process. Smooth processes in international adoption are still filled with setbacks and waiting. So much of our journey is at the mercy of politics, money, and cultural differences. I have become accustomed to the American culture of instant gratification, so this experience has been really good for me :)!
Kyle and I are anxious and excited every time our phone rings and when we check our e-mail. The fact that one day, these every day technological things will lead to us seeing our baby for the first time is thrilling. Again, please pray for the health and care of our baby and his or her family...it is so appreciated!!!
