On Monday Kyle and I received updated pictures of Chieh Chieh and word that our first court hearing is on April 25th! What a day! When I arrived at work, several of my coworkers stopped to ask me how the adoption was going and offered kind words of encouragement. It was just what I needed to lift my spirits. Also, Kyle had the same thing happen to him. Then BAM...pictures and a court date. I just had a feeling that something good was brewing:). We were not expecting our first court hearing until this summer so this was a fabulous surprise. I cannot thank our friends and family enough for all the prayers and kind words...they are much appreciated and make a difference!
The past month was a "valley" in the adoption process. There was a potential bump that led to a ton of anxiety and fear. However, things have progressed and we could not be more elated. According to our agency, the second of three court hearings will be in July/August estimating our travel date around September/October. Essentially we should be prepared to bring her home as early as August and as late as November (if nothing goes wrong). Getting closer and closer!
In the pictures, she is dressed in some clothes that we sent over and is looking at our photo. I appreciate her foster mom for thinking of us!
