Day One of Our Trip: Travel

I am going to try to blog about each day of our trip throughout the next few weeks. The first day was all about travel. We left Dallas at 10:35 on American to San Francisco on August 17th. Moms included (thank goodness!). We arrived in San Fran and spent our six hour layover exploring Fisherman's Warf, a tourist sight across from Alcatraz. We had a lovely lunch that consisted of local seafood and some vino of course. Close to Napa so this girl has some good ol's Napa Cabernet. The moms, Kyle, and I walked around and then headed back to the airport. We flew to Taipei via EVA airlines around 6pm and arrived in Taipei 10pm their time. Our flight was amazing! We each had our own row, TV, and choice of movies to watch. The flight attendants were so kind and exotic looking. I seriously thing they must have all been models. Upon arrival we went through customs and immigration and were met with a sign with all four of our names. Our tour guide, Mr. Yeh and his son Alex, were there to pick us up and take us to our Hotel. Mr. Yeh was a retired police officer and had taken many Gladney families through their adoption process in Taiwan. His English was limited so his son Alex was with us the whole week to translate. Let me tell you...these two were so amazing! More details to come!
