A Year Ago...

A year ago yesterday we received news from Gladney that Chen Yun-Chieh was going to be our daughter. I will never forget that day. Kyle and I were filling out paperwork to officially enroll in the China program (we thought Taiwan was not going to work out due to changing laws), and our case worker called. She said "Chieh Chieh's birthmother picked you!". I mumbled something in the phone, handed the phone to Kyle, and began to cry. We did not tell our family right away because we wanted to surprise them all. Kyle made a t-shirt for Max that said "My Sister" above Cora's referral picture. We had fun waiting for them to see the shirt throughout the weekend. I look back on the past year and am overwhelmingly grateful to God. He has blessed us richly through His answered prayers and miracles. Our kids have grown a deep bond already...like they were meant to be siblings:).
