Austin Trip

My sister ran her first marathon last weekend, and my mom and I were there to cheer her on. Kyle took all the parenting responsibilities so that I could go down to Austin...he is amazing. I got home last Sunday with the kids happy and the house clean. Rock star husband up in this casa! I truly enjoyed spending time with my sister, brother-in-law, and sweet nephew. We ate some fabulous barbecue at the Salt Lick. If you watch Top Chef (Texas season), this is the place where the chefs stayed up all night to cook different meats. My sister completed her marathon running about a 10 minute mile the whole way. I am so impressed by her perseverance and tenacity. Some of you know that she was in grave danger five years ago due to four different blood clots in her lungs then almost lost her leg to a MRSA staff infection after Henry was born. Brooke has endured many medical roadblocks but never stopped fighting to reach her goals. I am lucky to have such a wonderful sister in my life.
