My "Go To" Things
It seems like this topic has come up a lot in my circle of friends and family. What are the things we like to make life easier? A few of my friends have posted their favorite recipes or helpful items so I thought I would do the same. I am not a born multi-tasker...I have to work at it A LOT. My go-to things usually help me manage my weeks/days. Here they are:
1. Cozi App: This is a shared app (free) that Kyle and I use together on one account. We keep a common calendar, shopping list, and to-do list. This little gem has helped keep store runs to a minimum and double booking our calendar.
2. Crockpot: I have two sizes and cook in one at least once a week. Life saver for middle of the week meals.
3. Skinnytaste.com: Love this site. Full of great and healthy recipes that are usually easy to make.
4. Pinterest: I love and hate this site. Love it because I have found some great recipes and stuff for Max/Cora. Hate it for all the reasons most women hate it:).
5. Meal planning: I have made myself meal plan on Sunday before I go shopping.
6. http://www.ourpreschoolhomeschool.blogspot.com/
http://www.1plus1plus1equals1.net/2012/09/all-printables-a-z/
These ladies home school their kids and post EVERYTHING on their blogs. Literally I push print and Max has something preschool related to do.
7. My family: I cannot say enough good things about my family. They are always willing to help when we need a sitter for a Dr. appointment, etc.
One thing that I have learned to accept....someone is always going to be more organized, a better cook, mom, wife, employee, etc. God knows my strengths and weaknesses...I am a sinner and never will be "perfect". I am trying to be grateful for the things that I have and can accomplish rather than the things I cannot. This is easier said than done though:).
Here is one recipe that our house loves. Easy to make too:).
Cheesy Chicken and Rice Bake
Ingredients
• 2 whole Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts, cooked and shredded. (cook at 375 for 45-50 minutes)
• 4 cups Cooked Brown Rice (see note below)
• ¾ cups Frozen Corn
• 15 ounces, fluid Can Black Beans, Drained And Rinsed
• 1 cup Plain Greek Yogurt (or Sour Cream)
• 4 ounces, fluid Can Green Chilis
• ½ cups Salsa
• 1 cup Low-fat Cheddar Cheese, Plus More For Topping
• 2 Tablespoons Fresh Cilantro For Garnish
Preparation Instructions
Preheat oven to 350F. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients except for cilantro and mix thoroughly to combine. Make sure the yogurt and cheese are stirred in throughout the entire bowl. Season with salt and pepper if desired. Transfer to an oven-safe dish and top with extra cheese if you would like. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until heated through. Garnish with chopped cilantro.
To make this process easier, I use Uncle Ben’s Ready Rice or Trader Joes whole grain ready-made brown rice.

Definitely stealing a few of these! I like what you said about someone always being better. I have some friends who whenever I talk to them, I just get depressed because I feel like I'll never measure up. But God made me Avery's momma, not them, for a reason :)
