Spring Break
Spring break started with a trip to Houston. Max and I went to visit one of my best friends Lauren and her precious son William. Kyle stayed in Big D with Miss Cora. This trip was truly special. I had not seen Lauren and William in over a year...last time they came into town we were in Taiwan picking up our girl:). Max and I got in Friday night and the boys immediately bonded. They had met in the past many times but are older now. Max slept in the king size guest bed with me both nights. I was nervous about it but he did great! It was precious waking up next to his sweet smiling face:). Lauren and I took the boys to the Houston rodeo and had a blast. We played games, looked at animals, went through a children's farm, and ate some yummy food. The staff at the rodeo were very kind...lots of extra games for the boys and free lemonade. I did not think Max would nap since he was so hyped up from the trip... but both Lauren and I ended up having to wake the boys at 5:30! We were shocked...they must have been worn out from all the fun. The boys had pizza that night, rode around the neighborhood in William's little car, jumped on the trampoline, and had a very splashy bath. They crashed again and Lauren and I got to have girl time. Sadly, we left the next morning. I know the boys will be life long friends...like Lauren and I. What a blessing!
On Tuesday Cora, Max, and I met Mel and her kiddos at the Arboretum. The kids played in the petting zoo, ran around, and had a picnic. Cora loves Mel and gave her lots of sweet hugs. Of course Max and Zoe held hands and chased each other during lunch. We plan on having our sets of kids get married...perfect in laws! I think Chase already has a crush on Cora. They did share a wagon ride after all.
On Friday Cora, Max, and I met my brother Matt and my nephew Drew at Celebration Park in Allen. I had heard of it but never made over there. I am so glad that we did....that park is amazing. It is 10 playgrounds combined. In the summer, the splash pad is turned on too. The boys ran around and then we had a picnic. Cora loves my brother so she was happy to be there with him.
Today Kyle, the kids, and I went to the Dallas Zoo. Cora had never been so I was interested to see how she would react. Well, the girl had a blast. She was so intrigued by all the animals and attempted to make several different animal sounds. I think the monkeys were her favorite. Max brought his Simba stuffed animal but Cora ended up snuggling it most of the trip. She really likes stuffed animals now...so sweet:).
I am immensely grateful for the beautiful weather, time with family and friends, and for Kyle and the kids. I could not ask for better people to spend this life with.
