Home One Month!
We have officially been home one month from Taiwan! I cannot believe how fast it has gone by. It seems like yesterday we were meeting Cora for the first time. However, it seems like she has always been a Scott:). Funny how that works! I truly could not ask for a more amazing daughter. Her smile and laughter just melt my heart. I could go on and on about my love for this girl (Kyle feels the same:)). Updates: We had a swallow study and intestine check done at Children's last week. Her intestines are normal but her swallowing ability is weak. She has a feeding assessment this week and will begin therapy from there. From what I can tell, she will need to go to therapy twice a week to have electrical stimulation on her esophagus and also to help me learn how to work with her at home. The goal is to strengthen her muscles used for swallowing so she can move to eating solid food. As of right now, Cora eats preemie formula from a bottle and a little bit of purees. Overall, her entire digestive system is weak. We are hopeful that this will get better over time and with the right medical care. Good stuff: Cora is crawling and pulling up a storm. This little dumpling is MOTIVATED to move and play! She loves her toys and is really starting to babble a ton. One of my favorite things to do with her is read before naps and bedtime. I can tell she enjoys listening to my voice and looking at the pictures. Adjectives: playful, resilient, sweetie-pie, all heart. Our hearts are full!
